“A
s I look back on my life, it’s as if I am watching an old 35-mm movie from my childhood, with no sound or color. Silence, fear and longing defined my life. In the darkness of my room, I read the one and only handwritten letter from my father. I often wondered why this man left my mother after my seventh birthday and never looked back. As the years passed, his departure from my life continued to haunt me until decades later, against all odds, I knocked on his door. After meeting his wife Elayne, the pieces of the puzzle snugly fit into place.
T
his twofold story weaves between how I lost trust in my father and then later in my husband Joe. “Allentown Joe” became known as the luckiest man in Pennsylvania when he learned he had the winning Lotto ticket, worth $20.8 million dollars, which was to expire in two days. It would have been the largest jackpot ever to go unclaimed in U.S. Lottery history. Instead of joy, my overwhelming emotion was fear knowing Joe previously worked through a serious gambling addiction. With the winning came the good, the bad and the ugly. My winning Lotto was learning to forgive the two most important men in my life and realizing that the path my life has taken was meant to be.
Come along with me as I find peace once I find all the pieces. It’s all about the power of love and forgiveness. And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. Love wins.”
At this point in my life, it’s time to pay it forward and help the children. Therefore, 100% of the proceeds of my book will go to two charities in Southwest Florida for children. The first is, “Our Mother’s Home,” and the other is, “Voices for Kids.” Please help me spread my message and help pay it forward.
