Executive Director: Karen Mason

Karen Mason, MSW grew up in Fort Myers, FL and has two adult daughters and one grandson. She is a 2008 alumnus of Florida Gulf Coast University, where she acquired a Master Degree in Social Work. She also has a Child Development Associate and Directors Credential. Mason worked 22 years for The School District of Lee County where she taught Head Start as well as provided tutoring and operated a Family Home Child Care.

In 2007 Mason was inspired to join OMH by a former professor who saw the concern and commitment she had for children, women and her community. She served one year as Vice President of OMH and one and a half years as President.  In Mason’s commitment to the community she has served as Health Chairperson for The National Association for Advancement of Colored People, volunteers for Red Cross and am a mentor for Footsteps To The Future for young single mothers.
