Suncoast Credit Union helps fund Mentored Living Program

Suncoast Credit Union has donated $15,000 to the Mentored Living Program to help provide a brighter future for the mothers and their babies at Our Mother’s Home.

The Mentored Living Program provides 24-hour all-inclusive mentoring for adolescent foster girls with babies. The program includes curriculum-based parenting classes, life skills training, physical and mental health, education, and other activities.

The program enables the foster girls and their babies to live together while learning necessary life and parenting skills needed to care for their child independently and safely once they age out of foster care. The goal is decrease the rate of high school drop outs among this unique population.

“We are thankful for the support of Suncoast Credit Union. Their generosity enables Our Mother’s Home to continue its mission to mentor young ladies and strengthen their parenting skills,” said Trisha Ryan, Our Mother’s Home Board President.

Our Mother’s Home provides a safe and nurturing home environment for up to 10 teen mothers and their children, many of whom have been in foster care or victims of human trafficking. The organization offers support to any pregnant or postpartum teen after their first trimester
